How we research and maintain Castruriali's educational writing about extra virgin olive oil.

Last reviewed: 10 October 2026

Who writes our guides

Our guides are prepared by the Castruriali editorial team. Castruriali sells extra virgin olive oil, so we have a direct commercial interest in the subject. We disclose that interest rather than presenting our educational material as independent journalism or clinical advice.

How we use evidence

We prioritise systematic reviews, randomised controlled trials, recognised public-health bodies, food regulators and original peer-reviewed research. We distinguish research about dietary patterns or extra virgin olive oil generally from measurements made on Castruriali's own oil.

References should identify the publication and, where available, link to the original paper, DOI record or responsible institution. Laboratory figures for Castruriali must come from the relevant independent test report and harvest.

Health information

Our health pages are general educational summaries. They do not diagnose, prevent or treat disease, and they are not a substitute for advice from a doctor, registered dietitian or pharmacist. We avoid presenting observational associations as proof of cause and effect.

Reviews and corrections

Materially changed pages receive a new reviewed date. If evidence changes, a citation is found to be inaccurate or a product figure changes with a new harvest, we update the page and its structured data. Corrections can be sent to hello@castruriali.com.

Product and commercial content

Prices, availability, delivery terms, awards and laboratory values must match the visible product page and current supporting records. Structured data must describe what a visitor can actually see and buy; it is not used to add invisible promotional claims.
