The plain version. How we ship, our position on returns, and the terms that govern using this site and buying our oil.
Shipping & Returns.
Delivery
We ship across the United Kingdom. Orders are dispatched from our UK distribution within a few working days and delivery is free on UK orders over £50. We pack every bottle carefully to protect it in transit.
Returns
Given the nature of our product, we do not accept returns. Castruriali is a perishable food product — an unsealed or stored bottle cannot be resold safely, so all sales are final.
If your order arrives damaged, or something is not right, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery at operations@castruriali.com with your order details and a photograph. We will always put genuine problems right — a damaged or faulty bottle will be replaced. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Terms & Conditions.
By using this website and placing an order with Castruriali Ltd, you agree to these terms.
- All orders are subject to availability. As a small-batch producer, stock is limited and we may be unable to fulfil every order.
- Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable. We may update prices at any time.
- Any discount code applies to the order it is used on and cannot be exchanged for cash.
- Subscriptions are billed by Direct Debit at the frequency you choose and can be paused or cancelled at any time.
- Our oil is intended for use as a food. Please store it as advised and consume within the dates shown.
- Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Privacy Policy.
Castruriali Ltd ("we", "us") is the data controller for the personal information you share with us. We are registered in England & Wales (Company No. 15281036) and are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). We handle your data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect & why
We only collect the information we need to take your order, answer your enquiry, manage our relationship with you or process a job application — typically your name, contact and delivery details, order history and anything you choose to tell us. We rely on the following lawful bases: performance of a contract (to fulfil your order), consent (to send marketing such as our newsletter, which you can withdraw at any time), legitimate interests (to run and improve our small business), and legal obligation (to keep tax and accounting records).
Our CRM & who processes your data
We use a customer relationship management (CRM) platform and a small number of trusted service providers — our payment provider, shipping carriers and email/newsletter platform — to operate the business. These act as our data processors under written agreements that require them to protect your data and use it only on our instructions. Payment and card details are handled directly by our PCI-DSS-compliant payment provider; we never see or store full card numbers ourselves.
How we keep it safe
- This website is served over encrypted HTTPS/TLS, and personal data is encrypted in transit and at rest within our CRM and providers.
- Access is restricted to the few people who need it, protected by strong authentication and reviewed regularly.
- We hold your information only as long as needed for your order, our legitimate interests and our legal obligations — after which it is securely deleted or anonymised.
- Should a data breach ever affect your rights, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours and tell you where we are required to.
International transfers
Where a provider stores data outside the UK, we ensure an adequate level of protection through UK adequacy regulations or the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement / Standard Contractual Clauses.
Marketing & cookies
We send our newsletter ("Stories from the Grove") only with your explicit opt-in consent and every email carries a one-click unsubscribe. We use only essential and — with your consent — analytics cookies; you can manage these from the cookie banner at any time. We never sell your data.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any right, write to our data protection contact at operations@castruriali.com and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
